<p><span>Queensland is an Australian state covering the continent&rsquo;s northeast, with a coastline stretching nearly 7,000km. <h3>edX</h3>
<p>In late 2013, UQ joined<span>&nbsp;</span><a href="https://www.edx.org/">edX</a><span>&nbsp;</span>&ndash; the world&rsquo;s leading consortium of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), jointly founded by Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).</p>
<p>UQ is a charter member and has a seat on the University Advisory Board of the not-for-profit edX enterprise. The UQx project in the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation works with the University&rsquo;s academic teaching staff to create and present a range of MOOCs through the edX platform and to further the goals of the UQ Student Strategy with respect to on-campus teaching.</p>
<p>UQx has 48&nbsp;<a href="https://www.edx.org/course?school=UQx">MOOCs</a>, four MicroMasters, two XSeries and one online master's degree&nbsp;program running on edX with more under development. UQx MOOCs cover subjects drawn from many disciplines along with meta-skills courses in employability and teamwork. Since releasing its first course on edX in March 2014, UQx has registered more than 2.98 million participants representing every country.</p>
<h3>Student experience</h3>
<p>The<span>&nbsp;</span><a href="http://www.uq.edu.au/uqadvantage/">Student Employability Centre</a><span>&nbsp;</span>provides students with opportunities, choices and support that will enable them to achieve their individual aspirations, to become leaders in their chosen fields and to positively impact on the society in which they live. In addition to flexibility in program choice, students can enjoy a wide range of activities during their studies, including global experiences, participating in conferences and research opportunities, accessing more than 220 clubs and societies, and making use of a wide range of sporting and cultural facilities.</p>
<p>In 2019, the University had more than 55,300 students including 16,000 international students from 134 countries. UQ&rsquo;s more than 18,600 postgraduate students include one of Australia's largest PhD cohorts, celebrating its 15,400th PhD graduation in 2020.</p>

<p>USQ has its main campus in Toowoomba and two other satellite campuses in Ipswich and Springfield. The<span>&nbsp;</span><strong>main campus</strong><span>&nbsp;</span>consists of buildings housing administrative, academic and support facilities, pathways, parking areas and green spaces. The university&rsquo;s library with numerous printed and digital resources provides immense support for learning, teaching and research. Adjacent to the northern side of the main entrance of the campus is the Gumbi Gumbi Gardens with over 100 plant species in a 5.4-acre land. The campus is also home to the Japanese Garden featuring a mountain stream, waterfall, central lake, the Azalea Hill and about 3-km pathways. This garden has about 230 species of Australian and Japanese trees and plants growing on it. USQ's medical centres ensure the health and well-being of the students through regular health assessments and on-time medical services. Besides this, USQ provides counselling and career-related guidance to those who need it. Each campus has several dining options that serve healthy and tasty food and beverages. Other facilities include an aerobics centre, a theatre, gymnasium with high-tech equipment, bookshop, tennis centre, childcare centre, post-office, a branch of Heritage Bank, Olympic-standard basketball courts and netball courts. Both students and faculty can access the inter-campus shuttle services provided by USQ.</p>
<p>The university offers over<span>&nbsp;</span><strong>700 specialised</strong><span>&nbsp;</span>professional degree programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The university has two faculties housing six schools each that offer programmes in various disciplines of business, management, education, law, arts, commerce, humanities, health and nursing, engineering, sciences, communication and creative arts. USQ has a separate college that facilitates indigenous education and research for Torres Strait Islanders and the Aboriginal community. The Open Access College of the university offers several special programmes that will equip students with the knowledge and skills for academic success. Besides this, it extends over 100 online programmes to facilitate flexible learning for working professionals. The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) is a medium-sized, regional university based in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, with three university campuses at Toowoomba, Springfield and Ipswich. It offers courses in law, health, engineering, the sciences, business, education, and the arts. The institution was established in 1969 as the Darling Downs campus of the Queensland Institute of Technology. In 1970, the institution had provided studying programs for rural Queensland and international communities. In 1971, it became the Darling Downs Institute of Advanced Education, then the University College of Southern Queensland in 1990 and finally the University of Southern Queensland in 1992. It operates three research institutes and seven research centres which focus on a wide range of business, agricultural, scientific, environmental, and technological issues.

The University is recognised for having the largest Japanese-designed garden in Australia, Australia's largest solar integrated carpark, and a library with rainforest and water features. In 2017, the University won the international Green Gown award for its approach to sustainability focusing on renewable energy, waste reduction, water retention, and integration of sustainability into strategic planning.

In 2012, the University's archaeologists discovered the oldest Australian rock art of 28,000 years old in the Northern Territory, and in 2018, the University's astronomers discovered a new planet that orbits an ancient star almost 2 billion years older than the sun.

The University is recognised for its efforts in preventing violence against women[10] and cited as employer of choice for gender equality by the Federal Government's Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA).

The University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) is a public university based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. After opening with 524 students in 1996 as the Sunshine Coast University College, it was later renamed the University of the Sunshine Coast in 1999.

The university has a flagship campus at Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast, with more campuses at Hervey Bay on the Fraser Coast,[1] Gympie and Caboolture[3]. In 2020, USC opened a full-service campus at Petrie in Moreton Bay.

Undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework and higher degree by research) programs are available, with study areas divided into seven disciplines: business, IT and tourism; creative industries, design and communication; education; engineering and science; health, nursing and sport sciences; humanities, psychology and social sciences; and law and criminology.
