About Diploma of Business (Higher Education)

The Diploma of Business (Higher Education) is a contemporary pathway of study developed in collaboration with industry and designed to meet the needs of businesses now and into the future.  As markets change businesses face the need to adapt to take advantage of new opportunities that stem from new technologies and markets. There has never been a more exciting time to study business! 
Within this course students are in smaller classes sizes offering individual learning opportunities through more one-on-one time with teachers.  
The Diploma of Business (Higher Education) sees students' progress through two stages. During stage one students study management creativity innovation marketing and contemporary business.  In stage two students study accounting economics statistics and fundamentals of law.  These subjects give students a solid grasp of business content in smaller specialised classes with additional English support services. 
At the conclusion of stage two graduates may continue to study at Federation University jumping straight into the second year of a Bachelor of Business.

Academic Entry Requirements

Academic requirement: The completion of a Year 12 or equivalent. Provision for entry may exist through other means including mature age other special provisions or recognition of prior learning.
English Language requirement: The following is a list of the tests and minimum required entry scored for this program. They include:
- IELTS (Academic Module) Overall 5.5 no individual band below 5.0 or equivalent.

English Program Requirements

Federation University accepts a variety of English language tests as proof of English proficiency. English proficiency assessment should be made using an external English test (Academic IELTS or equivalent) with the results determining whether the student can enter into our programs directly or via an appropriate English program.

From 1 July 2016 direct entry without an external English test will be only permitted when student meets the English exemption requirements described on the Federation English language requirements page as per the Simplified Student Visa Framework’s English requirements.
