The course also offers you a fast-track route to complete your professional recognition with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

If your undergraduate degree has inspired you to take your study further and gain advanced knowledge and expertise across the field of accounting, this is your opportunity.

In the Master of Accounting, you’ll gain the skills to successfully operate as a specialist in the accounting profession. You’ll also combine research with practical experience, and cover the latest applications to further develop your accounting expertise.

Accreditation and professional recognition
The Monash-CIMA collaboration provides a fast track route to acquire both a Master of Accounting and the Chartered Institute
of Management Accountants (CIMA) professional qualification at the same time. To do this, you just need to choose the three
CIMA pathway units as your electives in Part C (one unit is already a required unit in Part B).

By doing this, you may be eligible for exemptions from all CIMA papers, except the Strategic Case Study. After passing the Strategic Case Study exam, you will only need to submit three years’ practical experience to apply for CIMA membership, and gain both the ACMA and CGMA designations.

Students have the option of doing a research pathway, work integrated learning, study abroad or units which offer credit towards some of the professional bodies." - Ralph Kober (Associate Professor, Department of Accounting)
