About Biomedical and Health Science

The Master of Biomedical and Health Science is a coursework degree to be undertaken in key research areas in the sub-Faculty of Biomedical and Psychological Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.

The focus in your initial year will be on research methods and practices. You will undertake coursework units in pedagogical and research skills training, and engage in specialist theory units. Your second year involves a full-time research project and internship under the supervision of a member of the academic staff. The internship will equip you with skills highly valued by employers.

Entry Requirements

Qualifications

Entry level 1: 96 points to complete. Duration: 2 years full-time.

An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Science or other related areas of study are* with a credit (60%) average.

Entry level 2: 48 points to complete. Duration: 1 year full-time.

An Australian bachelor honours degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Science or other related areas of study are* with a high credit (65%) average.

Further information

Where an applicant has the equivalent of a 3-year Australian Bachelor degree in a non-related discipline the selection panel will also consider relevant and significant work experience for Entry level 1.

You can meet English entry requirements if you have completed an English subject in your prior secondary studies that is equivalent to an Australian Year 12 level (score requirements also apply). Acceptable English subjects for international qualifications are detailed in the prerequisite subject requirements section below. Other English subjects may be accepted and are assessed on a case by case basis.
