Global Immersion Guarantee (GIG)

GIG is an award-winning initiative that will enable you to explore first-hand the relationships between society, technology and the environment. It’s a two-week, funded study trip for all eligible first-year Monash single or double degree students to one of six destinations.

Entry Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of final year secondary school, or equivalent, including English
  • Satisfactory completion of the International Baccalaureate (IB), including English
  • Satisfactory completion of the New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), including English
  • Completion of the Gaokao - for minimum scores, see Gaokao entry requirements (pdf, 3.29 mb)

English Program Requirements

You can meet English entry requirements if you have completed an English subject in your prior secondary studies that is equivalent to an Australian Year 12 level (score requirements also apply). Acceptable English subjects for international qualifications are detailed in the prerequisite subject requirements section below. Other English subjects may be accepted and are assessed on a case by case basis.
