<p>The one-year full-time (or part-time equivalent) Diploma of Arts and Social Sciences gives you the opportunity to develop academic skills while focusing on either education, arts, social science or digital media through the choice of a specialisation.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>Successful completion of the Diploma will guarantee you entry and up to eight units of credit towards a Southern Cross University Bachelor of Arts,&nbsp;Bachelor of Digital Media, Bachelor of Education, or the&nbsp;Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.</p>
<p>The Diploma of Arts and Social Sciences is offered through SCU College, where we understand that learners have diverse experiences and ways of learning. The College connects you to your peers and supports your study success through additional workshops to assist with academic and study skills.</p>
<p>This course includes professional experience learning via placement in early childhood education settings or schools. Pre-requisites to meet national and state-based regulatory requirements, as detailed on Faculty of Education Professional Experience Requirements website, must be met prior to attending professional experience placement. All professional experience learning days must be completed, and professional behaviour and conduct must be demonstrated.</p>

<p>Applicants for admission to candidature to the Diploma of Arts and Social Sciences must have an assessable entry qualification from a country where English is the main language and where the medium of instruction for that qualification was English, or have completed an International English Language Test (or comparable test scores) with:</p>

<p><strong>Education Specialisation&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p>A pathway into the Bachelors of Arts/Bachelor of Education degrees is available for students with an English language score comparable to Academic&nbsp;International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test score of 7.0, with no band less than 6.5. Graduates of the course in the Education Specialisation who have an Academic IELTS 7.5, with no band less than 7.0, qualify for direct entry into the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education degree at Southern Cross University.&nbsp;Up to 8 units of advanced standing is included in this pathway.</p>

<p>The state of NSW is divided by natural features into four distinct geographical sections.</p>
<h4>The Coast</h4>
<p>A thin coastal strip stretching along 1460 km from the subtropical Northern Rivers region near Queensland, through the mid-north Coast, Hunter, Sydney, Illawarra and Shoalhaven down to the cooler far south coast.</p>
<h4>The Mountains</h4>
<p>The Great Dividing Range, which includes the Snowy Mountains, the Northern, Central and Southern Tablelands, the Southern Highlands, and the South West Slopes. <h4>Credit rating</h4>
<p>NSW has been assessed to have the highest possible credit rating, AAA, by both Moody&rsquo;s and Standard &amp; Poor&rsquo;s. NSW is one of only two states with a triple-A credit rating. This rating was given because of the state&rsquo;s strong, stable economy and financial management.</p>

<p>If you're uncertain about which one is right for you, our Diploma of Health can provide the clarity you need for your future as a health professional.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Graduates can seek professional outcomes in several areas, including as allied health assistants, personal care assistants, lab assistants, and case workers. This Diploma is also an ideal pathway towards further study at Southern Cross University and provides guaranteed entry to a range of Bachelor degrees.</p>
<p>This course is offered through&nbsp;SCU College. Additional support through workshops to develop academic and study skills is available to all SCU College students.</p>
<p>Students select a specialisation of study to prepare them for further study in one of the following disciplines: sport and exercise science, occupational therapy, speech pathology, psychological science, biomedical science, osteopathic studies, naturopathy or nursing.</p>

<p>You'll learn the language and nature of science and mathematics, and will be able to follow your interests in specific areas of science.</p>
<p>The course includes specialisations in the following disciplines:&nbsp; Earth and Environmental Systems, Forest Systems, Marine Systems, Regenerative Agriculture or Engineering and a pathway to linked degrees in these areas should you wish to pursue further study.</p>
<p>Graduates may also find work in para-professional roles, including positions as field assistants, laboratory assistants and environmental monitoring officers.</p>
