About Master of Arts (Theology)
A knowledge of theology is indispensable to a person's development of faith as it is central to the exercise of all ministries, lay and ordained, directed toward the communication and sharing of that faith. Theology explores important issues such as the nature of God, the kind of God revealed for us in Jesus Christ, the nature of personal identity and of humanity, human origins and destiny, Christian community and God's presence with us in the Spirit.
The Master of Arts (Theology) is designed for those with an undergraduate degree who wish to undertake further study in theology, while providing a firm foundation for independent research. The program offers an opportunity for you to explore a variety of theological areas after completing a number of foundational courses. Graduates find employment in areas such as religious education, ministry, pastoral counselling, spiritual direction and youth work.
