A Bachelor of 3D Design and Animation provides skills and experience in modelling, rigging, animating, texturing, lighting and compositing. Incorporating industry engagement throughout, this bachelor of animation prepares you for a career in industries such as film, post-production, TV commercial, games and asset development, advertising, information and education.
The Bachelor of 3D Design and Animation is designed to provide you with knowledge and skills in computer-based 3D modelling, rigging, animation, lighting and texturing. This degree develops your practical skills with the study of 3D design, underpinned by foundations of 3D modelling, animation and interactivity in the games industry, and the study of professional practice in 3D design and animation workplaces. The course incorporates industry-informed briefs, industry mentors, client projects, internship opportunities and the study of emerging areas of 3D design and animation practice. By the end of this course, you'll have a combination of a well-rounded 3D design and animation generalist knowledge base with focused niche skills development in a 3D design and animation specialist area.

Entry Requirements

  • Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
  • Broadly relevant work experience (documented e.g. CV), demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR
  • Formal, informal or non-formal study, completed or partially completed, demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success; OR
  • Written submission to demonstrate reasonable prospect of success; OR
  • Discipline specific portfolio (art and/or design) – applicable to Design only. 

International students requirements

  • Australian Year 12 or equivalent; and
  • Academic IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5) or equivalent.
