Our MBA is designed to propel you towards success. It reflects the latest in contemporary management practice, providing six fundamental courses covering the foundations of modern business; money, markets and people. More advanced core courses in leadership, strategic management and corporate governance provide pivotal insights into the dynamics of modern organisations.

With our flexible modes of delivery, you can choose to study either by face-to-face, entirely online, or a combination of both.

Master of Business Administration / Master of Applied Finance

The combined MBA/ Master of Applied Finance program focuses on developing generalist administration skills and financial expertise. Students will develop a holistic understanding of a number of business functions including:

  • marketing
  • organisational design
  • managerial decision making
  • strategic management and accounting

You will develop a deeper knowledge and skills set relating to the operation of financial markets, financial risk management, equity evaluation and investment strategies.

The Master of Health Economics, Management and Policy has been developed in response to growing demand both nationally and internationally for expertise in health leadership and management, policy and governance and economics and evaluation.

Effective leadership and an understanding on the economics and governance of health policies are vital to solving a range of complex challenges within the health care sector. This combined program will equip you to respond to these challenges in innovative ways as well as develop your leadership skills. It will leverage your existing knowledge, fostering new skills for those already employed in the health sector while enhancing the value of future employees entering the sector.

Master of Business Administration / Master of Human Resource Management

The Master of Human Resource Management (HRM) program focuses on developing professional skills for people working as advisors to and advocates for, as well as managers of, people. In these roles, HRM and employment relations (ER) professionals must be able to put a strong and reasoned argument for a particular way forward, based on a deep understanding of relevant HRM and ER theory as well as a practical understanding of workplace problems and their context.

The Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach used in this program builds confidence and competence in effective management of people, and will prepare you well for a senior management/leadership role, specialist HR role, or consulting career.

Master of Business Administration / Master of Professional Accounting

The combined MPAC/ MBA focuses on building accounting knowledge to be eligible for admission to the professional accounting bodies as well as furthering understanding of broader business functions including:

With a strategically based focus on meeting the requirements for admission into the professional accounting bodies as well as developing business management capabilities, the combined MPAC/ MBA will leverage your career potential.

Upon graduation, you will be eligible to join the CPA and the CAANZ as well as having developed a comprehensive understanding of extended business functions. This program provides students with the opportunity to develop practical skills by applying their knowledge to real-world problems. This postgraduate qualification will improve your career potential, while providing you with the flexibility to study at a pace that suits the demands of your life.

Entry options and duration

Professional credit

Do you have qualifications or experience beyond the minimum entry requirements for a Masters Degree? If so, you may be able to complete your degree in reduced time and at reduced cost.

Entry Requirements

Entry into the Master of Business Administration will be available to applicants who have:

  • Bachelor (Honours) Degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification; or
  • Bachelors Degree, or an equivalent qualification, in a related field such as accounting, business, commerce, economics, finance, human resource management, industrial relations, management, marketing; or
  • Bachelor Degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, not in a related field and 1 year relevant organisational experience; or
  • At least 7 years' relevant organisational experience, including 2 years in a management position; or
  • Successful completion of 75% (30 units) of one of the following UoN programs:
    • Graduate Certificate in Business Administration
    • Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance
    • Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management
    • Graduate Certificate in Marketing
    • Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting

Students seeking Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) must provide detailed documentation with their admission application. This will be forwarded to the Program Convenor for consideration. RPL applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

English Program Requirements

All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy here.

Applicants for this program must satisfy a minimum English Language Proficiency Standard equivalent to an IELTS overall minimum of 6.5 with no subtest result below 6.0.
