The Master of Clinical Medicine (Leadership and Management) will provide you with an up-to-date education that blends clinical care, teamwork and environmental sustainability with principles of leadership and management. You will be prepared with the skills and knowledge to take on senior health leadership positions and inter-professional team leadership roles across a full range of health environments.

What you will study

The University of Newcastle Master of Clinical Medicine (Leadership and Management) will enable you to learn to evaluate, assess and develop clinical competence. You will gain a deeper understanding of how the Australian health service is structured, financed and performs from a local, national and international perspective, and learn the economics and clinical governance of health care systems. You will also develop advanced skills necessary for leading effective high-performing inter-professional clinical teams.

  • Health professional registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA), national board, or another recognised accrediting body, from the following discipline areas:

  • Completed a minimum of a three year degree with at least one year's experience in a clinical setting

International health professional graduates in Australia are encouraged to apply. Health professional graduates working overseas are also encouraged to apply and their application will be reviewed by the Program Convenor on a case by case basis. International applicants will need to demonstrate current registration with their equivalent health professional registration authority.

English Program Requirements

All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy here.

Applicants for this program must satisfy a minimum English Language Proficiency Standard equivalent to an IELTS overall minimum of 7.0 with no subtest result below 6.5.
