Entry Requirements

The Master of Education is an 80-unit postgraduate qualification for:

  • qualified teachers who wish to gain an additional teaching area in Mathematics or TESOL; or
  • qualified teachers who wish to undertake professional development.

Admission is available for applicants who have one of the following qualifications or equivalent:

Teacher Retraining

  • Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Education/Teaching; or
  • Bachelor Honours Degree in Education/Teaching; or
  • Bachelor Degree in Education/Teaching.

Professional Development

  • Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Education/Teaching; or
  • Bachelor Honours Degree in Education/Teaching; or
  • Bachelor Degree in Education/Teaching.

Relevant fields include education, teaching, training, tutoring, or equivalent.

English Program Requirements

All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy here.

Applicants for this program must satisfy a minimum English Language Proficiency Standard equivalent to an IELTS overall minimum of 6.5 with no subtest result below 6.0.
