<div>The Master of Architecture degree is an accredited professional degree that provides advanced education in architecture and is the principal pathway to registration as a practising architect.</div>
<p>The program extends the development of skills and knowledge in architecture built on the undergraduate Bachelor of Architecture and Built Environments degree and draws on a rich treasury of teaching traditions, community partnerships, technical capabilities, design excellence, and questing research. The program aims to foster a profound and enduring engagement with architecture as profession, discipline, and culture.</p>
<p>Project-based design studios form the core of the program. These emphasise professionalism, critical and rigorous design thinking, knowledge of contemporary and emergent theories, technologies and practices, and the development of skills for a diversity of future careers in architecture. Students gain experience tackling a range of challenging design problems, including those relating to urban futures, social and environmental responsibility, and complex buildings.</p>
<p>Studios are complemented by units in Professional Practice, Advanced Technologies, and Design Research, with a choice of options to enable tailored pathways through the field. The program culminates with a research-led final project nurtured by professional and discipline leaders in small studio groups.</p>

<p>Within the imperatives of sustainable design, the program injects critical inquiries into the relations between the domains of the human and the non-human, such as buildings for animals, bio-fabrication with organic materials, and intersections between architecture and agriculture.<br />The location of the Master of Architecture program within the School of Technology, Environments and Design presents exciting interdisciplinary opportunities with the disciplines of geography and information technology.</p>

<p>The Master of Architecture degree is recognised and accredited by the Board of Architects of Tasmania, and the Architects Accreditation Council of Australia.</p>
<p>Students who complete the Master of Architecture satisfy the academic requirements for registration as an architect in Australia. After a period of relevant professional experience and satisfactory completion of the national Architectural Practice Examination, graduates are eligible to apply for registration under the applicable Australian State and Territory Architect Registration Boards.</p>

The course will equip you with a high level of understanding of the maritime industry and provides the foundation to undertake middle and senior management positions after graduating.</div>

<div>The maritime industry is at the forefront of international trade for sustainable development and is an exciting, dynamic, and challenging industry in which to work. The MBA course provides a unique educational experience with a focus on an applied approach to the maritime industry, centered on strategic and analytical thinking. The MBA provides industry focused learning outcomes by applying business principles such as management and finance to the maritime industry, and a strategic perspective to international issues relating to maritime management.&nbsp;&nbsp;The MBA aims to produce inter-culturally competent graduates who are able to contribute substantially to the sustainability of the maritime industry in senior decision-making roles.</div>
<p>The MBA in Maritime Management has three specialisations: Maritime Logistics, Maritime Technology, and Shipping Operations. The specialisations allow you to explore the theory and practice of business logistics and supply chain management, business operations and technology in the context of maritime industry. The specialisations provide opportunities for you to apply managerial expertise in different sectors of the maritime industry.</p>
<p><br />The MBA in Maritime Management is a nested course that includes entry and exist awards for the Graduate Certificate in Maritime Management and the Graduate Diploma of Maritime Management. <p><strong>The duration of the program will depend on your background.&nbsp;&nbsp;Holders of a cognate undergraduate degree and two years' work experience are eligible for advanced standing (i.e. normally 1 semester of credit) and hence, a reduced duration (1.5 years).</strong></p>
<p>The College of Sciences and Engineering may accept as a candidate for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Maritime Management a person who has:</p>
<p>An undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution and at least two years' work experience (NOTE 1.); or,</p>
<p>A Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Maritime Management or a related discipline; or,</p>
<p>A professional qualification such as a Certificate of Competency as a Master Class 1 (Unlimited) or Chief Engineer and at least two years' work experience; or,</p>
<p>If a first degree or professional qualification is not held, candidates may apply to the Department of Maritime and Logistics Management for consideration as a candidate. These applicants are assessed on their work experience, current managerial responsibilities and any other qualifications.</p>
<p>Applicants intending to undertake Maritime Technology Specialisation must have:</p>

<li>An undergraduate degree in engineering; or</li>
<li>A Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Engineering; or</li>

<p>NOTE 1: An applicant lacking the requirement of at least two year's work experience will normally need to complete Graduate Certificate in Maritime Management before being admitted to MBA in Maritime Management. In some instances, however, students may be admitted directly to MBA in Maritime Management but will still need to successfully complete all four units in their first semester of enrolment (i.e. the equivalent of Graduate Certificate in Maritime Management) in order to be allowed to continue in the course.</p>
<p>International students with English as a second language will need to have a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, with no band less than 6.0.</p>
